Education

• I Attended As a Sociology Major and an Education Minor. I Completed Classes Through Both Departments That Involve Field Research/observation. Through the Sociology Department I Was Enrolled in Steve Mckay’s Work and Society Class That Had a Research Component Where I Participated in Conducting Surveys Throughout the Town of Watsonville As a Way of Collecting Research on Low-wage Workers in Santa Cruz County. As for the Education Class, I Was Enrolled in an Intro to Teaching Course That Required 30 Hours of Observation in a Classroom, Which I Completed at Delta High School, a Charter School on the Cabrillo College Campus. Both Departments Have Helped Me in Furthering My Understanding of our Society at Large and How We Can Make an Impact Through Making As Many Voices As Possible Heard.
• Activities and Societies: I Participated in the Dance Production Team Through the Dance Department at the School.during My Second Year at Srjc, I Studied Abroad in London, England Through Program Aifs. I Attended Classes With Other Community Colleges in the Bay Area, Hosted on the Campus of the University College of London. While I Was There I Took Classes Pertaining to British Life and Culture, As Well As Participate in Classes That Involved Guided Tours of Various Historical Sites Such As Shakespeare's Globe and Parliament. This Experience Allowed Me to Embrace a Different Culture Other Than My Own and Immerse Myself in a Different History.
